Trump’s Deputy Counsel Is Nominee For DC Circuit

Greg Katsas is President Trump’s pick for a seat on the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. Katsas worked in the Justice Department under President George W. Bush, where he served as acting associate attorney general. Formerly an appellate attorney at Jones Day, he is a graduate of Harvard Law and clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.The DC Circuit routinely hears challenges to federal agencies and the executive branch. It recently blocked EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt from delaying implementation of regulations concerning methane and other greenhouse gas emissions. Katsas has never been a judge.
