Atlanta Firm Going National With “Virtual” Attorneys

An Atlanta-based law firm has established what it says is a first of its kind hybrid business model, hiring attorneys nationwide in areas where the firm has no office and allowing those attorneys to carry on their work remotely, from home or wherever their work might take them. The law firm, Taylor English, will provide its virtual lawyers with support in such areas as marketing, business development, IT and accounting, and the lawyers would have the same opportunities for advancement, including potential equity partnership, as the Atlanta lawyers. The firm maintains this arrangement will allow it to provide services more efficiently, at less cost to clients. “We are forgoing fixed real estate costs by hiring these remote partners,” said Taylor English partner Chris Wilson.
