DA Says Day Care Workers Locked Up For Sexual Abuse Are Innocent

No evidence was ever found to support three children’s 1992 claims that Dan and Fran Keller videotaped sex with children, dismembered babies, desecrated corpses and laced Kool-Aid with blood. But the Kellers spent more than 20 years in prison for alleged sexual abuse of a child. The couple won reversals of their convictions in 2015, and now Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore has announced she is dropping the charges entirely, because she believes they are innocent of the crime. That decision will resolve all outstanding criminal issues for the Kellers, who said their convictions were the result of the swell of “Satanic panic” in the early 90s. “I believe that the defendants are actually innocent,” Moore said in a statement. “[N]o credible evidence exists that inculpates the defendants.”
