Online Anonymous Trashing Of Co By Former Employee Upheld In CA

A California appeals court has reversed a decision that would have required an online site called Glassdoor to identify someone who posted negative comments about the company he used to work for. The company maintained the posting included confidential information. Glassdoor, based in Mill Valley, CA., is a job and recruitment site that includes reviews of companies by current and former employees. The company in this case was Machine Zone, Inc. (MZ), a video game maker based in Palo Alto. The review, although it included some positives about the company, alleged that it spread “false financial and product translator information.”
