Tillerson Used Secret Email To Discuss Climate Change

While Rex Tillerson was chairman and CEO of Exxon Mobil Corp., he used an email attached to the alias ‘Wayne Tracker’ to discuss climate change and other matters, according to New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Tillerson is now serving as Secretary of State. The New York AG’s office is investigating whether Exxon misled shareholders and the public about climate change, and said [email protected] was used from at least 2008 through 2015. Schneiderman’s office sent a letter this week to the judge overseeing the investigation, saying Exxon had not previously disclosed the email account, and asking the judge to order Exxon to explain whether documents from the “Wayne Tracker” email and 34 other accounts assigned to Exxon executives and board members had been preserved. The letter also asked the oil giant to identify whether Tillerson used any other email accounts.
