In a Today’s General Counsel article, Saad Gul breaks down some prevailing myths about cybersecruity, as he identifies five misconceptions that can cripple preparation and hamper a response. Among the most destructive of these notions are that the threat of a cyber-breach is so formidable that nothing can be done about it, and that insurance will prove to be a “silver bullet.” But perhaps the most dangerous, especially for companies that have devoted significant time and money to the issue, is what the author calls “the myth of stasis.”
