Supreme Court Hearings To Begin March 20

Judge Neil Gorsuch, President Trump’s nominee to fill the U.S. Supreme Court’s vacant seat, will sit before the Senate Judiciary Committee for confirmation hearings beginning March 20. Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) made the announcement after consulting with ranking member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). Grassley estimated the hearings would last three to four days. The first day will include opening statements by committee members and Gorsuch. Questioning follows, beginning March 21. Republicans hope to complete the confirmation process by April. It remains unclear whether they will gain enough Democratic support to move forward on the nomination.
