A Keyboard Built For Lawyers

A computer keyboard designed specifically for lawyers was one bit of hardware debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Brian Potts, a partner at Perkins Coie, said he was inspired to create the LegalBoard when he was writing a brief. “I was furiously writing a brief when I went to insert a section symbol. As was my custom, I had to stop what I was doing, use the mouse, go to insert a symbol, find the section symbol, and hit insert,” he said. “This process stopped my train of thought, took up my precious time, and more than anything else, was incredibly annoying.” Potts says he plans to go on to design keyboards made specifically for other professions, too, like doctors, engineers, and journalists.
