Privacy Legislation Hits A High-Tech Wall In CA

It would have been a first in the state that’s often first, but it didn’t happen. A Right to Know Act that would allow consumers to find out what information about them was being collected on line was tabled until at least next year. In the political machinations, privacy advocates confronted Facebook, Google, and the California Chamber of Commerce, among others, who collectively marshaled a multi-million dollar war chest.
