McCain Suggests Eternal Roadblock For SCOTUS Noms

During a radio interview, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) suggested that the Senate was unlikely to ever confirm a Hillary Clinton nominee to the Supreme Court. He vowed to leave his party’s Supreme Court blockade in place until his party wins the presidency, regardless of qualifications. After he drew criticism, a McCain spokeswoman said that he will thoroughly examine the record of any nominee, and vote based on their qualifications, although any Clinton nominee would likely prove unqualified.
