Battle Looms Over Fracking Rules

The scenario is familiar. Democrats want federal rules. Republicans want them left to the states and so does industry. Environmentalists, meanwhile, want to push the Democrats farther than many of them want to go. With the Department of the Interior expected to soon release draft rules on hydraulic fracturing for natural gas extraction, the battle is heating up.
