At least 80 of the largest U.S. law firms by revenue have been hacked since 2011, according to a Bloomberg report. Law Technology Today lists a few common mistakes lawyers make that can put their firm at risk, including: opening attachments from unknown senders; storing unencrypted data on a laptop or mobile device; upgrading to a new system without thinking of security first; and looking first at cost, rather than effectiveness. “By avoiding a few common mistakes, you can make technology work to your advantage, not let it hamper your practice,” writes founder and CEO of Legal Workspace Joe Kelly.
