Most SCOTUS Justices Are Millionaires

At least six of the sitting U.S. Supreme Court justices are worth more than $1 million, with Stephen Breyer topping the list, with a  net worth of about $6.1 million. The next-highest net worth goes to Chief Justice John Roberts, at $4.2 million. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Samuel Alito, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan are also all worth more than $1 million. They all pale in comparison to Merrick Garland, President Obama’s nominee to take the Supreme Court’s vacant seat, who has a net worth of at least $7.6 million, and possibly as much as $25 million. The justices’ worth comes from stock holdings, property, and mutual funds, among other assets.
