Horny Judge Wins Reelection

A judge who was censured for having sex with two women in his chambers, and for failing to disqualify himself from a case involving a longtime friend, was nonetheless re-elected in Orange County, Calif. Scott Steiner won his re-election campaign against veteran prosecutor Karen Schatzle. In 2014 the Commission on Judicial Performance wrote, “Engaging in sexual intercourse in the courthouse is the height of irresponsible and improper behavior by a judge.” Steiner slept with an intern, and a practicing attorney, in his chambers. On Facebook, Steiner wrote, “It has been an honor working for the people of Orange County. Thank you for supporting me in my efforts to protect victims’ rights. With the will of the voters, I will continue my work as a judge of the Orange County Superior Court for a second term.”
