Judges Don’t Have To ‘Know-A-Guy,’ Says Gov

Rhode Island’s Governor tells a columnist that her policy for picking judges will differ from that of her predecessors. A local law school professor hopes the new policy, under which an applicant does not have to be politically connected to be considered, will be enough to reverse a troubling decline in applicants for state judgeships. The Governor seems to be doing what she says so far.
