Brady’s Team To Appeal ‘Deflategate’ Suspension

Tom Brady’s legal team, led by former U.S. Solicitor General Theodore Olson, plans to file an en banc appeal this week in the ‘Deflategate’ lawsuit. The NFL instituted a four-game suspension on Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots, after a league investigation found he had knowledge of inappropriately deflated footballs used in a playoff game. The Patriots sued the league, saying the punishment was excessive, and a federal judge agreed and overturned the suspension. However in March three Second Circuit Court of Appeals judges reinstated it. Olson said, “The facts here are so drastic, and so apparent, that the court should rehear it.” If Brady is granted the en banc appeal, his suspension will be stayed and the case heard before an entire roster of active judges.
