Legal Caped Crusader “Excuseman” Charged With Theft

A Chicago lawyer who for years played a self-styled hero called “Excuseman” in videos on YouTube has been charged with stealing $1.1 million from clients. Jordan Margolis, who has been living in California trying to become a screenwriter since he was disbarred in 2015, faces 36 felony counts including theft, forgery, and misappropriation of financial institution property. Margolis was suspended from practicing in Illinois in 2013, and fled to Los Angeles rather than fight disciplinary charges. “He had a spotless record for decades until these difficulties arose,” his attorney Robert Loeb told the Chicago Tribune. “He has debts. He has always wanted to make good on them, and he still wants to make good on them.”
