Litigious “Sleaze Ball” Accused Of Forging Verdict

A former real estate broker who instigated so many lawsuits his own parents called him a “sleaze ball” now faces charges including forgery and perjury after he allegedly doctored a false not guilty verdict slip for his own case file. David E. Scher has sued the cities of Boston and Newton, a Brighton condo board, the people who rented his condo along with the bank that held the mortgage, and his own parents. A lawsuit filed against him claims that, after a 2014 larceny conviction threatened to cost him his Suffolk University Law School diploma, Scher removed the verdict slip from the case file and replaced it with a doctored one that indicated he’d been found not guilty. The false verdict was used in his favor in a variety of legal matters. Scher faces up to 20 years in state prison for the scheme.
