In CA, Tech Workers Split For Sanders

A long-simmering rift between tech workers and the entrepreneurs and financiers who power Silicon Valley, and increasingly much of the San Francisco Bay area, erupted into a raucous protest at a Hillary Clinton fund raising dinner where seats were going from $33,400 on up. George and Amal Clooney were co-hosts at the event, held at the luxury Fairmont hotel in San Francisco. Said one software engineer,“They sell you a dream at startups – the ping-pong, the perks – so they can pull 80 hours out of you.” Apparently he represents a committed demographic: According to sources cited in this article from The Guardian, the Sanders campaign has raised more than $3 million in the tech sector, compared to just $1.5 million for Clinton, although she still leads in polls by about 10 percentage points. Sanders is gaining, and the Democratic primary is June 7.
