Scott A. Barshay, a top Wall Street dealmaker who has spent nearly 25 years of his career at Cravath, Swaine and Moore has announced he is moving to Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison to serve as global head of mergers and acquisitions. “This was such an amazing opportunity for me and for our clients that I couldn’t say no,” Barshay told the Times. “Joining Paul, Weiss was like getting an invitation to join the dream team.” Barshay counseled Anheuser-Busch InBev in its $106 billion purchase of another beer giant with Cravath, and H. J. Heinz and 3G Capital in their $40 billion takeover of Kraft.
