Slow Federal Progress On Internet Privacy Frustrates Many

Civil society advocates are dismayed by the lack of progress in establishing a consumer privacy framework. In February 2012, the White House released its Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights with the hope of giving American consumers the right to choose what personal details companies could collect from them, and determine how that data was used. But in the four years since, few new data controls for consumers have been introduced.
