Commerce Dept Suggests Copyright Changes

Remixes are okay, market forces will deal with educational programs, but runaway jury awards need some attention, according to a DOC white paper on copyright policy. The task force that wrote the report recommended three amendments, among them incorporating into the Copyright Act a list of factors for courts and juries to consider when determining the amount of a statutory damages award.
