OSHA Citing Facilities “It Hasn’t Even Visited”

A post from attorney John Hyman looks at a recent administrative law judge decision and finds cause for alarm. The decision denied a request to halt an order for “enterprise-wide abatement” of safety problems at a company that operates 170 truck terminals nationwide. The order followed the discovery of dangerously defective fork lift trucks at a facility in Massachusetts. “If your business operates in more than one location, you cannot ignore this case or its implications,”the author writes. “What steps can (should?) you take to minimize the risk of enterprise-wide abatement based on a one-site inspection?”
