With Apple, Google, Tesla, Toyota, and Uber announcing major investments in bringing self-driving vehicles to public roads, the future of such vehicles appears to be on autopilot. A veritable feast of legal questions face the self-driving car industry, including: who will regulate self-driving cars, who will be liable for accidents, whether drivers will need additional training, how self-driving cars will be registered and inspected, and what will it mean for the operator of such a vehicle to be negligent? “Self-driving cars will mark a new age in modern transportation,” Romina L.
