Judge Love Triangle Creates Conflict

The romantic affair between two Illinois judges threatened not only their marriages, but the impartiality of cases argued by the attorney husband of one judge in her lover’s court. When lawyer Joe Foley witnessed his wife, Judge Rebecca Foley, kissing Judge Scott Drazewski, he made an anonymous complaint to the chief judge. Drazewski denied the affair at first but eventually recused himself from Joe Foley’s cases at the behest of Judge Foley. A Judicial Inquiry Board complaint filed against Drazewski and Foley accuses the two of conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice and conduct that brought the judicial office into disrepute.
