Handy Pocket Card For ‘Reasonable Accommodation’ Candidates

The website of the Office of Federal Contracting Compliance Programs now includes a pocket card for employees, entitled “Requesting a Reasonable Accommodation. ” It answers four common questions for people with disabilities who might want to make the request. Basically it explains what a reasonable accommodation is, how you make the request, and what is likely to happen after you do. A client alert from Michael Best & Friedrich gives the card a critical look and concludes that while it has some things to recommend it, it also has at least one basic problem.
