Mother Of All Legalese Screeds

The Lawyerist challenged three attorneys to combine their skills to write the worst piece of legal writing imaginable. The result is not bad, although any editor in the legal trade area has seen worse. It does do an uncanny job of stating the same thing at least three different ways in each paragraph, and putting quotes around words like “note” for no obvious reason. “Many attorneys at law will assert that achieving clarity in legal writing is a Sisyphean endeavor,” they write, and in case you didn’t understand that, they add the following parenthetical: (See previous paragraph for further information.)
