“Slow Walking” Judiciary Committee Infuriates Dems

Congressional Democrats are increasingly frustrated with a Senate Judiciary Committee that they accuse of “slow walking” nominees to federal judgeships, in hopes that a newly elected Republican President will fill vacancies with conservatives. Twenty-one Obama nominees have not had committee hearings. The six federal judges approved by Republicans since they took over the Senate in January is a record of underachievement not matched since Dwight Eisenhower was president. There are 11 nominees to judgeships who have been approved by the Judiciary Committee, but await a vote on the Senate floor.
