Hackers Hired By Uber

The two men who made waves last month by hacking into and commandeering a Chrysler Jeep have been hired by Uber to improve automotive security. Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek remotely accessed the navigation system of the Jeep in a stunt hack at the 2015 Black Hat USA conference. That led to the recall of 1.4 million vehicles, and a host of job offers. The pair have been calling attention to automotive security research for years, and will further Uber’s efforts in that area.
