Olsen Twins Sued By Unpaid Interns

About 40 past and present interns have sued Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, child stars and founders of Dualstar Entertainment Company, for failing to pay while demanding long hours and not awarding college credit. The lawsuit claims the interns were doing the same work as their paid colleagues, and that they were incorrectly classified as exempt from minimum-wage requirements. “You’re like an employee, except you’re not getting paid,” former intern Shahista Lalani, the lead plaintiff in the case, told Page Six. “Other interns have cried. I’d see a lot of kids crying doing coffee runs, photocopying stuff.”
