Blagojevich Asks For Full Appeals Court Review

Imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich recently had five of his 18 corruption convictions overturned by a three-judge appeals panel. Now he is asking to have a full federal appeals court review his case. The panel threw out convictions related to Blagojevich asking for a spot in President Barack Obama’s cabinet in exchange for appointing an Obama adviser to a Senate seat. Asking for a seat was not illegal, the judges found – but asking for cash for naming someone to Obama’s old seat was. Blagojevich is hoping to shave years off his 14 year sentence.
