Texas AG Faces Felony Charges

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is facing felony securities fraud charges. The allegations – that Paxton solicited clients for a Texas investment firm without mentioning he was being paid a commission by that firm – hovered over the Attorney General campaign, but did not prevent the state legislator and private lawyer from being elected. A grand jury in Collin County, Texas indicted Paxton last week for two first-degree felony charges relating to securities fraud, and one third-degree felony relating to failing to register as an investment adviser.
