Lawyer Group Sets In-House Diversity Goal

Twenty Asian-American lawyers in the ranks of Fortune 500 general counsel by 2020 is the stated goal of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s new “20×20” diversity campaign. The organization says there are 13 Asian-Americans leading major corporate legal departments at the moment. The Minority Corporate Counsel Association reports 54 companies within the Fortune 500 employ a minority as GC. “People think we’re already successful,” Xerox GC Don Liu said at a gathering of Asian-American lawyers. “We need a concerted effort to get to that next stage.”
