$60M Settlement Between NCAA and College Athletes

College athletes whose names, images, or likenesses were used by video-game maker Electronic Arts may collect $60 million after a judge approved a settlement in a class-action against the gaming company, and the NCAA. The NCAA is appealing the decision. “This landmark decision marks the first time student-athletes will be paid for their likeness or image, and stands as a huge victory in the ongoing fight for student-athletes’ rights,” said Steve Berman, the plaintiff attorney in the case.
