How to Become a Federal Judge By Age 35

In 1996, Judge Alex Kozinski, of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, wrote an article in the National Law Journal titled, “So You Want to Become a Federal Judge By 35?” In it, he laid out 10 commandments, including “Never back a loser,” and “Get to know your Senators.” Now, twenty years later, Kozinski revisits his list at Concurring Opinions, and in some cases expands on the advice. New tips include, “try answering questions by using baseball metaphors.”
