Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia seem unlikely friends, but friends they are, based on mutual respect and common interests that transcend ideological differences. They go to the opera together, and an opera about their unlikely friendship will playing in Washington D.C. this summer. “Call us the odd couple,” Scalia said at a George Washington University event with Ginsburg. “She’s a very nice person. What’s not to like? Except her views on the law.” Scalia calls himself and Ginsburg fellow “legal academics” who appreciate good writing and well-reasoned arguments.
