Internet of Things Leading to Internet of Law

The increasing prevalence of the Internet of things – the interconnectedness of the tools that are used in daily life – is leading, inevitably, to a new Internet of Law, Seyfarth Shaw’s Kenneth Grady argues. The future is likely to hold countless examples of the law becoming automated, and attorneys, who “live in a world where things are gray,” may well be unsettled to hear of such black-and-white applications of law. But, according to Grady, it’s here to stay. “Rather than focusing on the many fascinating issues these developments raise and then preparing clients and corporate compliance systems to address these developments, lawyers are stuck quibbling over the mundane,” Grady writes.
