Blogger Fined $3.5M For Cyberbullying Alabama AG And His Campaign Manager

Roger Shuler spent five months in jail before agreeing to take down contested stories on his website, Legal Schnauzer, and now a judge has fined him for accusing Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange of having an affair with his former campaign manager. Schuler owes $1.5 million in compensatory and $2 million in punitive damages to Jessica Medeiros Garrison, the target of his online attacks. Shuler wrote that Garrison and Strange had an affair, and that she received preferential treatment as a result. Garrison testified that the allegations were false, and said she suffers from embarrassment and anxiety as a result of the widely-circulated stories.
