Federal Judge Arrested For Domestic Violence Resigns

One year after he was arrested on domestic abuse allegations in Atlanta, Mark E. Fuller of the Middle District of Alabama has announced his retirement. Despite having completed a pretrial diversion program, he had remained under heavy pressure to resign. Fuller was arrested last summer after his then-wife called authorities, saying he had assaulted her and accused her of having an affair with a law clerk. Criminal charges against Fuller were dismissed, but he remains under investigation by a five-judge panel.
