Muslim Woman Trumps Abercrombie In SCOTUS Hiring Discrimination Case

The Supreme Court this week ruled that a young Muslim woman wearing a hijab – not hired by Abercrombie & Fitch because head coverings go against the retailer’s “look policy” – is not required to ask for a religious accommodation before suing for discrimination. She need only show that her need for an accommodation was a motivating factor for Abercrombie choosing not to hire her, the Court found in an 8-to-1 ruling. Justice Clarence Thomas was the only dissenter.
