Ill-Fated HP Takeover Spawns $5.1 Lawsuit vs Brit Execs

In lawsuit details made public this week, HP claims that two executives at British firm Autonomy artificially inflated the company’s revenue and overstated growth rate and profits in the leadup to HPs acquisition of the company in 2011 for $11 billion, a deal which has been a bust for HP. Now HP has filed suit in UK courts demanding $5.1 billion in damages from the former executives. One of the executives struck back, publically accusing HP of looking for a scapegoat for its own incompetence and threatening to countersue.
