Google To Open Patent Bazaar

The search engine giant Google has announced plans to experiment with a patent marketplace, an online portal in which patent holders list the patents they wish to sell and set their own price. It will run for two weeks in May. Google’s own patent attorneys are in charge of the project, which may or may not become a permanent part of the Google enterprise. The abbreviated duration of the program, which is only open to U.S. patents, may make it difficult for patent holders to shop around for competitive bids.
