The Crusade Against PACER

PACER, the federal public access portal which holds more than 1 billion legal documents, is expensive, egregiously careless about revealing personal information, and it overbills. according to a group of activists looking to revamp – or eliminate – the government’s service. At the DC Legal Hackers Meetup, Carl Malamud, founder and president of nonprofit information accessibility group Public Resource, outlined his plan to reform PACER: litigation, supplication and agitation.
