Supreme Court To Take Up DirecTV Arbitration Case

The Supreme Court this week agreed to take DirecTV’s appeal of a ruling that would allow customers contesting the imposition of early termination fees to mount a class action. DirecTV maintains its customer agreements require these cases to be handled through individual arbitrations. A California state appeals court and the California Supreme Court found state law overrides such agreements.
