Why Good Lawyers Still Fail

Frank H. Wu, Chancellor & Dean of UC Hastings College of the Law, writing in the Huffington Post, says that when he was starting to practice lawyers disdained the business aspects of the profession. Now, “even those who lament the transformation of their occupation grant that it belongs within the stream of commerce.” Failed law firms didn’t understand the need to be great business people, or to affiliate with great business people, he says. The skills required to be a great lawyer don’t necessarily correlate with business sense.
