The Client Might Be Lying

Separating lies from truths, in all their various guises, has been called the main and most difficult task of any judicial system. But some practicing lawyers may not appreciate how early in the process that task should begin. Attorney and author Janet S. Cole says that lawyers should make it a rule not to trust their client or potential client until they have determined, by independent confirmation if necessary, that he or she is telling the truth.
