Wal-Mart Announces Wage Increase

Entry-level workers at Wal-Mart stores will earn $9 an hour, nearly $2 more than federal minimum wage, under a new initiative the store announced this week. The company laid out several changes to hiring, training, compensation and scheduling programs, with wage hikes to take place as soon as this spring, and with an additional raise to $10 an hour for all current workers by February 2016.
