When best-selling author John Green heard that a quote from one of his readers had been wrongly attributed to him—a quote that was sold on merchandise in his online store—he searched for himself and realized it was true. The line “I’m in love with cities I’ve never visited and people I’ve never met,” did not appear in his book, “Paper Towns,” which is currently being made into a movie. Green hunted down the fan who wrote the quote and arranged for her to receive royalties from the online merchandise. Green also took to the Internet via his popular “Vlogbrothers” YouTube channel to discuss the failings of copyright in the digital age.
