Abu Dhabi Public Construction Project Cited For Labor Abuse

Workers on a major new culture complex in Abu Dhabi, to include Guggenheim and Louvre museums, are subject to conditions amounting to forced labor, according to a report from Human Rights Watch. The Guardian newspaper details alleged abuse and reports that New York University and the British Museum are also among the western organizations involved in the project. Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is currently embarked on an effort to establish itself as a major international financial center.
