Ruth Bader Ginsburg as Feminist Crusader

In increasingly pointed dissents, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has left little doubt about her personal stance on issues of equal pay, birth control and access to abortions, making her an iconic feminist figure. On her role in providing perspectives for her male fellow justices, Ginsburg told Bloomsberg, “I was a law school teacher … and that’s how I regard my role here with my colleagues, who haven’t had the experience of growing up female and don’t fully appreciate the arbitrary barriers that have been put in women’s way.” The feature highlights Ginsburg’s role as a female advocate before being appointed to the highest court, and reveals that the justice herself owns a “Notorious R.B.G.” t-shirt.
